Since creating the “to be continued” blog, I’ve been closing each post with the words “dwell in possibilities.” I must confess that I borrowed this phrase from the great poet, Emily Dickinson. I saw her quote and realized that it summed up what I am doing as a professional home stager and interior designer.

I am most grateful to Ms. Dickinson for her insightful and inspiring phrase.

Regardless of the size or price range of a house, my objective is to find the possibilities in that house. I am looking for those unique features of that house and finding possible ways to accentuate them for the potential buyer. I am analyzing those unusual spaces that buyers find difficult to understand upon first glance and finding possible functional uses for those spaces.

In the end, my mission is to help the potential buyer see how they could dwell in the possibilities of this house!

A Special Treat – Better After

If you follow my work, you know that home staging is all about the before and after shots.  I enjoy the dramatic changes that I can make to a room or a house that makes it appealing to as many buyers as possible.

Imagine how happy I was to find a new blog - Better After – The Best of Your Before and Afters.  It is a showcase of the before and after of design projects and makeovers.

The blogger, Lindsey, builds her site with inspiration from its readers.  As she explains, Better After is “a showcase of my favorite part of any design project or makeover: The before and afters! It's always better after!”  Who knows, you may see Transitions Home Staging before and after photos one day in Lindsey’s blog.

Better After may feature transformations of thrift store treasures or overlooked items into beautiful and functional design and decor. Lindsey is “endlessly inspired by what people can conceive and create”.

Check out what Lindsey has to offer at http://betterafter.blogspot.com/2009/10/project-hutches.html . It is my treat for you today!!!

Dwell in the possibilities before and the results after!!

  1. I find it difficult to convince people to clean their carpets when selling a home. Your site helps. Thanks

  2. Thanks for the comment about cleaning carpeting. Just as you would comb your hair and brush your teeth before a date or a job interview, so you should also do basics like clean your carpeting before you put your house on the market. Seems simple, but there are cases when that idea is a revelation.
